I carved this pumpkin for Halloween 2010. It's the vegan society logo and is recognized as the official symbol for vegan. (CC BY 2.0 Elaine Vigneault + Modifications by Artur Sowinski ) Here is a short list of the best and happiest plant based promos that I stumbled upon so far. Feel free to point here all of your friends who would like to know what this whole vegan hassle is all about. I will update this post from time to time with new findings.

Amazing story about Annette Larkins who as a raw plant based foodist grows own food, and lives on raw plant based diet that gives her amazingly good health and appearance. Although 70, when walking the streets with her husband, she is often taken for her daughter.

Ciddy Fonteboa as the Vegan Ciddy presents a chef’s perspective on how to eat a good and tasty food without loosing the taste of dishes you grew up with. Also exploring new taste combinations that you never thought would be possible nor so awesome.

So if you plan to be a ninja warrior badass and you think vegan diet might conflict with your plan, think again. Adam Frewer is all of that, mostly thanks to vegan diet:

Here is another awesome story of transformation into the life full of joy and happiness by Kristina Carrillo-Bucaram who was hyperglycemic but fought it off with raw-vegan diet.

A story of transformation from the dieting world to the world of healthy habits, made  by Whitney Lauritsen ( EcoVeganGal ). She describes how going plant-based improved her looks, self esteem, health and energy levels. “Learning How To Lose Weight & Love The Body In A Healthy Way”

Mimi Kirk, a winner of PETA’s Sexiest vegetarian over 50. But there is one glitch, she is not over 50….she is in her seventies! ( go get her awesome cookbook, I just got mine delivered this week )

A cartoon describing main points why humans are suited / designed / evolved into a plant eating diet.

John Kohler from GrowingYourGreens.com. He carries a deeper message apart from the awesome tips on how to grow your own food in suburbia – asking you from where does your food really come from.

These are only few of the many more videos of the benefits of going plant-based. If you are still unconvinced let me just tell you that you will be joining ranks of Bill Clinton and his daughter Chelsea, Michelle Pfeiffer, Woody Harrelson, Ellen DeGeneres, Alicia Silverstone, Mike Tyson, Pamela Anderson, Anthony Kiedis ( Red Hot Chili Peppers singer ), Venus Williams, Andre 3000 (Outkast)Robin Williams, Erykah Badu, Fiona Apple, Daryl Hannah, Nikola Tesla, Steve Jobs, Steve-O ( Jackass crew ), Brendan Brazier ( two times winner of Canadian Triathlon while being 100% vegan ), whole crew of the Sea Shepherd and many, many, more who chose a plant based life.

If you are looking for a place to start I suggest searching around for your local vegan restaurants, shops, cooking classes and so on. If you can cook then a simple replacement of meat with veggie-faux-meats will do (vegan hotdogs, burgers). They are aplenty in most of the supermarkets and you barely will notice the difference in taste. You can also visit goveg.com for tonnes of information on how to make the first step into your healthy and compassionate life.

If you are a medical practitioner or simply want to really to know what  goes around ‘under the hood’ of human body, then you might want to check out a presentation by Neal Barnard MD. It is about how body and brain behaves when going on 100% plant based diet. This presentation by Dr. Richard Gerhauser MD gives some clue on how to prioritise handling of any illness. Also give a look at this presentation by Jeff Novick, MS, RD about real mediterranean diet. It might come to you as a nice eye opener, since mediterranean diet is not about putting olive oil on all things and drinking wine :)

If you dont know if you can change your eating patterns into more healthy ones, maybe this short clip about Indonesian pig farmer who went vegan will help you understand that it is possible. (he also healed one of his pigs from cancer)

If you happen to know equally cheerful yet powerful messages please drop a comment so I can put it here as well.
